The Libertines' Carl Barât Announces Album With New Band the Jackals, Shares "Glory Days"

A few months after the Libertines reunited for their first shows in four years, the Libertines’ Carl Barât has announced an album with his new band, the Jackals. The record doesn’t yet have a name, but he’s shared the first single, “Glory Days”, which you can listen to below. It’s also available as a free download at the band’s website. “Glory Days” was produced by Joby J. Ford of the Bronx.

The album will be out early next year on Cooking Vinyl in the UK and Grand Jury in the U.S. The record was made in Los Angeles, with a band assembled via online ads. “I actually started making this record solo, but the long and short of it is I just didn’t like my own company,” Barât said in a press release. “I was lucky, because I found a bunch of people who genuinely fit together as a gang.”
