Watch Meg Ryan, James Corden, Adam Scott Perform Beyoncé Soap Opera on “The Late Late Show”

On last night’s episode of “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” Corden and guests Meg Ryan and Adam Scott did a sketch called “The Bold and the Lyrical.” It’s a mock soap opera, wherein the characters used only Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child lyrics to communicate. (The conceit is quite similar to a non-singing version of R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet.”) It opens up with Ryan and Scott in bed together, quoting “Naughty Girl” and “Say My Name.” Corden then bursts into the room, finds Scott in bed with Ryan, and they go back and forth with “Ring the Alarm,” “Irreplaceable,” and “Drunk in Love” lyrics. As the scene unfolds, there are quotes from “Flawless,” “Run the World (Girls),” “Hold Up,” and more. At one point, Adam Scott quotes Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” and he gets called out. Watch “The Bold and the Lyrical” below.

Earlier this year, James Corden parodied Lemonade on “The Late Late Show.” Read “The Beyoncé Lemonade Merch of Our Dreams, Realized” on the Pitch.
